Start your day surrounded by epic Rocky Mountain scenery as your pack of huskies leads you through the forest at Boundary Ranch, Kananaskis on the 8:30am dog carting tour.

This interactive tour provides an introduction to dryland dog carting and an opportunity to help care for the dogs. Run by our sister company, Snowy Owl Sled Dog Tours, each cart holds 4 participants and is suitable for kids aged 5+.

In the afternoon, enjoy a thrilling 1:50pm Kananaskis River Raft tour where you’ll travel along the peaceful river, surrounded by beaches and lush forests, the infamous Mount Yamnuska comes into sight. Soon, the deep sound of rushing water approaches and the current plunges you into exhilarating rapids!

Tour Season: July-September

Tour Days: Friday-Monday

Adventure Dog Carting: Tour time 8:30am, tour length 1.5 hours (30 min intro & time with the dogs, 30 min on the trail, 30 min in the Boundary Ranch Wildlife Museum.

White Water River Rafting: Tour time 1:50pm, tour length 1.5 – 2 hour on the Kananaskis River

Adult: $285.40 CAD +GST (ages 16+)
Youth: $244.90 CAD +GST (ages 5-15)

Best birthday present ever!! We did the summer carting tour through Snowy Owl. There was tons of time to get to know and pet/hangout with the dogs. Our guide was knowledgeable and ensured we had the best experience! To end the tour we had the opportunity to learn how to unharness the dogs and feed them. A must do if you’re in the area. We did the summer carting and kennel tour and both activities were just simply amazing. All 170+ dogs are very clearly loved and cared for so well, and they get to do what they love best: RUN! Some of the sweetest, most loving dogs you could ever meet. The team know their stuff and clearly care very much for the well-being and health of these dogs. They did everything they could to make this the best experience for us. It’s been a few hours since I did this and I’m still in absolute awe of the whole operation. Seriously, don’t even think about it, just book some time in with these amazing dogs and people!
