THE FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We recommend guests allow for a total of 4 hours - this includes transportation from our base and back as well as river time.  Our check in/base is located in downtown Canmore, approximately 30-45 minutes from our put in locations.

How much time should we allow for our tour?

Our adventures include round trip transportation (including pick up in Banff), photos, cold refreshments, snacks, gift bag, life-jackets, wet suites, helmets and neoprene booties.

What is included in the tour?

Guests meet at our base in Canmore, AB.  You can click here to view a map of our base location.  Our store front has a seating area, clean changing rooms with washrooms and souvenir shop.

Where do we meet and what kind of facilities do you have?

Yes, round trip transportation is included as well as pick up in Banff.

Is transportation available?

Yes! Like most exciting activities, there is of course risk involved.  To ensure these risks are minimized, all our rafting guides are trained in Swiftwater Rescue, First Aid & CPR.  All of our gear is checked multiple times throughout the day to ensure everything is in seamless working order.

Is rafting safe?

You can expect to experience between 2-4 grade rapids - please visit our Rapid Guide for a detailed explanation.

What grades of rapids will we experience?

Yes, our life-jackets are rated to a minimum of 40lbs and a maximum of 350lbs.

Are there any weight restrictions?

You might!  Seeing wildlife is certainly an added bonus but we of course cannot guarantee it. There are many animals such as bears, wolves, coyotes, cougars, deer, elk, moose, osprey and eagles that use the river banks for feeding or hydrating.  There is a possibility to see them even for a brief moment!

Will we see wildlife?

In Canada it is acceptable to tip your guide, reservations agent or bus driver if you feel they did an exceptional job.  Gratuities are at your own discretion and are certainly appreciated.

Am I allowed to tip my guide?

Please bring a bathing suite (required), towel (required) and a change of clothes (if you wish).  On cooler days we recommend bringing a warm fleece sweater (no cotton) - you may wish to wear under your splash jacket.  You can bring a day pack to store your items.

What should I wear/bring?

Since guests cannot bring their bags on the raft, they can be left on our secure bus during your adventure!

Where can I leave my bag?

Sorry, but no.  These adventures are not pet friendly.

Are we allowed to bring our pets?
