FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long are the tours?

One of the most common ‘frequently asked questions’! We recommend guests allow for a total of 4 hours. This includes the 30-45 minute transportation from our office in downtown Canmore, where you’ll check-in, and back, as well as your time on the river.

What’s included in our tour?

Our adventures include round trip transportation, professional photos, cold refreshments, snacks, life jackets, wetsuits, helmets and neoprene booties.

Where do we meet and what kind of facilities do you have?

You’ll check in at our spacious office in downtown Canmore, Alberta. You can click here to view a map of our base location. Our modern office has a seating area, clean changing rooms, washrooms, and a retail shop.

Is transportation provided?

Yes, your round trip transportation is included from our downtown Canmore office to the river launch in Kananaskis Country.

Is rafting safe?

Your safety is our primary priority! Like most outdoor activities, there is a certain level of risk involved. To ensure these risks are minimized, all of our rafting guides are trained in Swiftwater Rescue, First Aid & CPR. All of our gear and equipment is new and high-quality and we check it all over multiple times throughout the day to ensure everything is in seamless working order.

What grades of rapids will we experience?

You can expect to experience between 2-4 grade rapids on your tour. Please visit our Rapid Guide for a detailed explanation.

Are there any weight restrictions?

Yes, our life jackets are rated to a minimum of 50lbs and a maximum of 370lbs.

Will we see wildlife?

You might! Seeing wildlife is undoubtedly an added bonus but, we cannot guarantee it. Many wild animals use the river for feeding or hydrating, such as grizzly bears, black bears, wolves, coyotes, cougars, deer, elk, moose, osprey and eagles. Wildlife sightings are always thrilling, even if it’s for a brief moment!

Am I allowed to tip my guide?

It’s acceptable to tip your guide, reservations agent or bus driver if you feel they did an exceptional job. Gratuities are at your own discretion and are certainly appreciated.

What should I wear and bring?

Please bring a bathing suit & towel (both required) and a change of clothes (if you wish). On cooler days we recommend bringing a warm fleece sweater. We don’t recommend cotton, to wear under your splash jacket. You can bring a day pack to store your items. Click here for more information on what to wear.

Where can I leave my bag?

Unfortunately, guests cannot bring bags on the rafts. Bags can be left on our secure bus during your river adventure!

Are we allowed to bring our pets?

Sorry, but no. These adventures are for humans only.
